Inbox Dark: A Dark Theme for Google Inbox
Inbox Dark is a Chrome extension developed by John Riddle that provides a dark "theme" for Google Inbox. This extension, created as a personal project, aims to enhance the user experience by offering a dark mode or night mode option for Google Inbox. The extension is presented as-is, with updates being applied as long as the developer continues to use Inbox.
With version 1.6, Inbox Dark brings updates to various elements in the Hangouts sidebar. Version 1.5 introduces darkened white backgrounds on the empty inbox and folders. In version 1.4, the title bar of open emails is changed to a lighter gray, which remains gray when scrolling down. Additionally, the "Remember To" dialog area and attachments window are darkened.
Further enhancements are made in version 1.3, including testing out a pale yellow color for new emails to improve visibility, brighter icons, and dark horizontal dividers. Version 1.2 fixes a bug from version 1.1 that prevented the Hangouts area from disabling. Version 1.1 itself darkens the Hangouts area, tweaks miscellaneous items like hover tooltips, and makes small changes to the extension popup.
Inbox Dark is a free Chrome extension that falls under the category of Browsers and subcategory of Add-ons & Tools. It offers users the option to switch to a dark theme in Google Inbox, enhancing readability and reducing eye strain.
